Octaves works the other way: a triangle core is doubled in frequency several times, and each triangle passes through a comparator to become a pulse with adjustable width. Because of this, pulse width modulation acts on every octave, and both edges of each pulse widen together. The octaves are centred on one another, so summing them produces symmetrical, battlement-like waveforms rather than the staircase shapes of divider designs. This gives it a distinct tone.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach output feeds into the next. With only the rightmost jack patched, it acts as a master out carrying all six octaves. Patching the third output as well splits the signal into two mixes, octaves 1–3 and 4–6, and other points along the chain can be tapped for further groupings. When a cable is plugged into a level CV input, the matching knob becomes an attenuator for that CV, so the harmonic balance can be shaped by envelopes, LFOs or sequencers.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Tune range switch sets how far the Tune knob reaches: full range, one octave or one semitone.
