The Doepfer A-188-1Y features a 256-stage BBD chip, enabling medium-length analog delay times ideal for lush chorus effects, rhythmic echoes, and dynamic modulation textures. This versatile module sits comfortably between flanger-style short delays and extended BBD delays.
With voltage-controlled delay time, you can modulate the clock using LFOs, envelopes, or sequencers for expressive movement. The external feedback insert allows you to shape the character — from gentle resonance to evolving decay and ghostly repeats. Delay times range from approximately 0.3 ms to 3 ms, offering chorus-like richness without venturing into ultra-long delay realms.
