The Befaco Hexmix is a six-channel performance mixer for Eurorack, designed for hands-on live mixing inside a modular system. Its layout and EQ draw on classic DJ mixers, so it suits players who want to cut frequencies hard and work mutes by hand during a set. It is also the core module of Befaco's Hexmix System.
-
Six channels with three-band EQ, mute, pan and volume on each
-
Steep 12 dB channel EQs modelled on DJ mixers for decisive frequency cuts
-
Master section with a gentler 6 dB EQ and its own volume control for shaping the final mix
-
Vactrol-based mutes that fade out slightly without clicks, with latching or momentary operation
-
Line or modular output level, selected by a switch on the back
-
VCA expander connector normalled to every channel input
Gain runs at unity, so each channel's volume control works as an attenuator on the incoming signal. All channel inputs sit on the left of the panel, and each one is normalled to the rear VCA expander connector. A Hexmix VCA can therefore feed all six channels directly, and patching a cable into an input overrides that connection.
Each channel's controls run vertically, as on a tabletop mixer, and Befaco intends the full system to span 6U rather than a single row. The Hexpander, sold separately, adds three aux sends per channel, PFL, individual outputs and a balanced output. Befaco suggests pairing the Hexmix's rear level switch with the Hexpander's balanced line output, so you can send a synth-level mix back into the case while feeding a PA at the same time. Neither the Hexpander nor the Hexmix VCA is included.
The front panel is heat-treated aluminium, and the module is designed and assembled in Barcelona. This listing is the assembled version.
