| The ACL Sinfonion is a Eurorack module from Audiophile Circuits League that acts as a central hub for harmony and melody in a modular system. Designed by Mathias Kettner, it began as a collaboration with Instruo and was then finished, developed and manufactured by ACL in Berlin. It is aimed at modular users who want to work with scales, chords and chord progressions inside the rack, something that is usually awkward to do in Eurorack.
Rather than quantizing a single pitch line, the Sinfonion sets a shared harmonic framework that its quantizers, chord voices and arpeggiator all follow. You can step through chords live from the front panel or let the progression sequencer move through song sections, while incoming CV from sequencers, LFOs or random sources is pulled into the active scale and chord. Two assignable CV inputs can be routed to parameters such as mode and scale degree, which allows harmonic changes to be driven by modulation. A 13TH button in the chord section lets you build chords of up to four voices from the current scale.
