Overview

The Adam Audio Sub10 PRO is a powered studio subwoofer with a single 10" woofer and onboard DSP. It extends the low end of stereo 2.1, multichannel and immersive monitoring setups such as Dolby Atmos rooms, and its cabinet is sized to fit under desks and consoles. It is built to work with ADAM Control software and ADAM's A Series monitors.

  • 10" front-firing woofer: fibre-reinforced paper cone, 45 mm voice coil and ferrite magnet with demodulation rings, loaded by an FEA-shaped front bass reflex port
  • Class D amplification: 200 W RMS into 3 Ohm, with 325 W peak
  • Three operating modes: Stereo with selectable crossover, LFE with a fixed 120 Hz low-pass, and Wide for full-range use with external bass management
  • Analogue and digital I/O: two XLR/TRS combo inputs, the right one also accepting AES3, plus two XLR analogue outputs and an AES3 digital output
  • Network control: ADAM Control over RJ45 Ethernet for level, phase, delay and a 4-band parametric EQ
  • Room calibration: Sonarworks SoundID Reference filters can be loaded into the sub's DSP and connected A Series monitors

In Stereo mode the Sub10 PRO handles bass management itself, with crossover points at 70, 85, 100 and 115 Hz; 85 Hz is the suggested starting point. LFE mode takes the right input and keeps the low-passed signal from the outputs, while Wide mode lets the sub play its full 21 to 300 Hz range when bass management happens elsewhere in the chain. A Bypass function removes the sub and sends full-range signal to the monitors, and it can be operated with a latching footswitch on the 6.3 mm Bypass jack for quick A/B checks.

Phase can be set on the rear panel from 0° to −315° in 45° steps, with a long press for a 180° flip. For finer alignment, ADAM Control (Mac/PC) offers more precise phase and up to 10 ms of delay, and can identify, rename and map several subs and A Series monitors so the whole system can be adjusted from the listening position. When ADAM Control takes over, the matching hardware controls are disabled. Settings, including imported SoundID calibration filters, are stored in the DSP and keep working without a computer connected.

The DSP runs at 96 kHz with 24-bit conversion, and separate peak and thermal limiters plus over-current, over-temperature and under-voltage protection guard the driver and amplifier. The braced MDF cabinet has a vinyl finish, a painted MDF front panel and a steel grille.
