Overview
The Adam Audio Sub8 PRO is a compact, networked active subwoofer with onboard DSP. It adds a solid low end to small monitoring systems, such as a pair of ADAM A Series monitors, and suits stereo mixing rooms as well as immersive and Dolby Atmos setups.
8" high-excursion woofer with a fiber-reinforced paper cone, an FEA-optimised front port and a Class D amplifier rated at 200 W RMS / 325 W peak
Ethernet network control through ADAM Control for Windows and macOS, with manual time alignment, a 4-band parametric EQ, Sonarworks profile loading and firmware updates
Analog and digital I/O: two XLR/TRS combo inputs, two XLR outputs and AES3 digital input and output on XLR
Four operating modes: Remote Control, Local/Stereo, LFE (<120 Hz) for immersive work and Wide for full-range or bass-managed systems
Selectable crossover points at 70, 85, 100 and 115 Hz, eight phase settings and 0 to 10 ms of delay
Footswitch bypass of bass management over a TRS connection (footswitch not included)
Calibration can happen in three ways: in ADAM Control, with Sonarworks SoundID Reference and a measurement microphone for stereo and multichannel systems, or directly with the controls on the backplate. That means the sub can be set up quickly without a computer, then fine-tuned over the network once the rest of the system is in place.
The latching footswitch bypass makes it easy to compare the mix with and without bass management, which helps when checking how a mix translates on smaller speakers. Inside, the DSP runs at 96 kHz with 24-bit conversion on the analog inputs, and separate peak and thermal limiters plus over-current, over-temperature and under-voltage protection guard the driver and amplifier.
The front-firing, front-ported cabinet is made of vinyl-wrapped MDF with a painted MDF front panel, and a metal grille protects the woofer. At 385 x 300 x 365 mm it fits under a desk or beside the monitors in compact rooms.

Device interface
XLR is a locking connector commonly used for microphones and balanced audio. Check whether each port is an input or output., Tip-ring-sleeve describes a three-contact jack connector. It can carry balanced mono or unbalanced stereo audio, depending on the port.,
Ethernet, A quarter-inch jack connector. Whether it carries mono, stereo, balanced or unbalanced audio depends on the port and plug.
Power source
AC-powered
Connectivity technology
Ethernet, Connects through a physical cable. Check the listed ports and cable requirements for compatibility.
Material
Medium density fiberboard (MDF)
Maximum bit depth
Uses up to 24 bits per digital audio sample. Bit depth describes sample resolution, not the sample rate.
