Befaco 1U STMix – DIY Kit

The Befaco 1U STMix DIY Kit is the self-build version of a compact four-channel stereo mixer in the Intellijel 1U tile format. It works as a standalone mixer for a 1U row, or as an expander for Befaco's Hexmix through a connector on the back. Befaco rates it as a beginner-level kit, so it suits first-time builders as well as experienced ones.

• Four stereo channels: each input pair has its own volume control.
• AC-coupled inputs: Befaco uses them to improve audio performance.
• Clip indication: LEDs show when the output is clipping.
• Hexmix expansion: a six-pin connector on the back links it to Befaco's Hexmix module.
• Shallow 1U build: 28 HP wide and 20 mm deep including the power connector, with a heat-treated aluminium front panel.

The 1U row in a case is often used for utilities, and a stereo mixer fits there well. It can sum a few stereo voices or effect returns without using 3U space, or add four stereo channels to a Hexmix. Befaco designs the module in Barcelona and prepares the kits there. An assembled version is also available as a separate product, and Befaco offers a Pulp Logic 1U panel on request.
