The Befaco Crush Delay V3 is an 11 HP Eurorack echo module built around the PT2399 delay chip. It gives about 400ms of clean delay and stretches into up to 2 seconds of degraded, glitchy repeats. It suits modular users who want a lo-fi delay with deep CV control, an external feedback loop and an option for raw digital noise.
-
Clean to crushed: the Time control covers clean delay in its first half and pushes the signal into crushed territory past the middle
-
Three Crush modifiers: circuit-bending switches, each with its own gate input, for glitch and noise effects
-
Voltage-controlled feedback: automatic gain control keeps levels stable at any feedback setting
-
Input and return VCAs: In Vol and Ret Vol each have a CV input normalled to 10V, so the knobs act as attenuators when CV is patched
-
Send/return loop: a fully wet Send output and a Return input for processing the repeats with external modules
-
Skiff friendly: V3 has a reduced depth along with redesigned VCA circuits and a wider clean delay range
Time, Feedback and Dry/Wet all take ±10V CV that adds to the knob position. Because the crush zone sits in the upper half of the Time range, a CV source on Time sets how much degradation reaches the wet signal. This lets you move between usable echoes and broken, artefact-heavy repeats within one patch.
The main input feeds both the delay and the Dry/Wet mix, while the Return input feeds only the delay. The processed signal goes three ways: to the Dry/Wet mixer and the main output, back into the delay through the Feedback VCA, and directly to Send. Patching a filter, wavefolder or another effect between Send and Return puts it inside the feedback path.
Since the PT2399 is circuit-bent, the module also works as a voltage-controlled digital noise generator. Uses range from ambient and drone textures to percussive sounds. The three Crush gate inputs switch at a 3V threshold, so clocks, gates or sequencer outputs can toggle the modifiers rhythmically.
The front panel is heat-treated aluminium. The module is designed in Barcelona, and this listing is the assembled version, not the DIY kit.
