The Befaco Muxlicer is a 16 HP Eurorack module that Befaco describes as a sequential signal processor. It combines sequencing, signal switching, gate generation and rhythmic audio slicing in one panel, so it suits modular users who want several sequencing and routing jobs handled by a single, compact module.
-
Bidirectional analog switch: route one signal to up to eight destinations, or select among eight inputs into one output
-
CV and gate sequencing: works as a sequential voltage source alongside a dedicated gate generator
-
Per-step gate retriggering: gate sequences can be retriggered step by step under control voltage
-
Audio slicing: chops audio into rhythmic slices, each with its own volume
-
Address function: sets when signals act on the patch
The module is built around three sections: a Digital Step Controller, a Gate Generator and an Analog Switch (Mux/DeMux). The Common I/O jack either sends a signal out to the eight Mux I/O jacks or collects signals from them, depending on how it is patched. With nothing connected to All In or the Mux I/Os, it acts as a CV output.
All eight Mux I/O jacks are normalled to the All In jack, so one signal can feed every step at once, while patching an individual Mux I/O overrides just that step. With only three cables you can, for example, send one source to six steps and two other sources to the remaining two. This makes it practical for building evolving patterns from audio or modulation sources without a large patch. The firmware is open source.
