This is the DIY kit version of the Befaco Oneiroi, a 30HP digital Eurorack synth voice built for ambient pads, drones and dense stereo textures. It suits builders who want a self-contained voice for hypnotic music or cinematic sound design. The kit carries Befaco's medium-grade difficulty rating, and the small surface-mount parts come already fitted to the board.
-
Three oscillators: a sine, a stereo supersaw with detune, and a 2048-sample wavetable that reads from the looper buffer. All three share one V/oct input and a unison control.
-
5-second stereo looper: records the external input or the module's own output for sound-on-sound layering. Speed runs continuously from 2x reverse to 2x forward, and a switch sets recording before or after the effects.
-
Four effects: a multimode filter (low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, comb) that can sit anywhere in the chain, a 3-band resonator with tune and feedback, a 2-tap echo with time and density, and a reverb with a macro control for size, filtering and direction.
-
Modulation and randomizer: several self-modulation sources with configurable routing, level and speed. The randomizer has four targets, three intensity levels and undo/redo.
-
CV control: most parameters have attenuated CV inputs, and a sync input locks the module to an external clock.
Oneiroi runs on Rebel Technology's OWL mk3 platform, with 24-bit/48 kHz stereo audio and 32-bit internal processing. The stereo input has three switchable gain levels and a two-colour LED for checking level. Roberto Noris developed the module. Its firmware is open source on Befaco's GitHub, and you can update the patch from a Web-MIDI browser over USB.
The knobs use a catch behaviour. After a randomize or other change, a control only takes effect once you turn it back to its stored value, so the sound does not jump when you start adjusting it.
