Befaco Pedal Pow – DIY Kit

The Befaco Pedal Pow is a 1U Intellijel-format tile that powers effects pedals directly from your Eurorack case, so a pedal used with your modular doesn't need its own separate power supply. This is the DIY kit version; Befaco also sells it ready-built.

• Two isolated outputs: each supplies up to 500 mA for your pedals
• 9V from the case: converts the case's +12V rail into 9 volts
• Compact tile: 6 HP wide in 1U Intellijel format, 30mm deep including the power connector
• Low own draw: the module itself uses 30mA on +12V and 30mA on -12V
• Aluminium panel: heat-treated aluminium front panel, designed in Barcelona

Because the Pedal Pow takes all its power from your case, plan your power budget before connecting pedals. Befaco's rule of thumb is that every 1 mA a pedal draws costs about 0.8 mA from the +12V rail, so using the full 500 mA on one output needs roughly 400 mA from +12V. That current is shared with every other module in the case, and the Pedal Pow can never deliver more than your supply has left over.

It suits modular players who bring 9V pedals into their rig, for example in a compact live setup where one less wall adapter makes a difference.
