The Befaco Voltio DIY Kit is the self-build version of Voltio, a 6 HP Eurorack module that works as an accurate voltage source and precision adder. It sits between a musical tool and a piece of lab equipment, so it suits modular players who want to transpose oscillators and sequences in exact musical steps, as well as DIY builders and technicians who need a known reference voltage for calibrating analogue circuits.
-
Note-accurate voltages: generates the voltage for every note of the 12-tone equal temperament scale across ten octaves
-
Two-knob interface: a simple control layout for dialling in the voltage you need
-
Precision Adder In: adds an external voltage to Voltio's output, so incoming pitch CV can be shifted by exact intervals
-
Banana sockets for multimeter probes: standard probes plug straight into the front panel, so you can take readings hands-free
-
Compact build: 6 HP wide and 30 mm deep including the power connector
In a patch, Voltio can tune oscillators to known intervals or transpose phrases coming from a sequencer, arpeggiator or any other note source by feeding them through the adder input. On the bench, it provides a dependable reference for calibrating oscillators and filters, whether you are finishing a DIY project or servicing analogue gear.
As a kit, it is assembled by the buyer. Befaco publishes an assembly manual, a user manual, the schematic and an interactive build guide (iBom) to support the build. A ready-built version is available separately as Voltio Assembled.
