The DivKid Stereo Strip is a 6HP Eurorack module, co-designed by Ben Wilson (DivKid) and Befaco, that brings the channel strip of a mixing console into the modular system. It combines amplification, EQ, panning and level control, with voltage control added. It is built for patchers who want mixer-style processing, a stereo VCA and panner, or a way to interface with line-level gear.
-
3-band EQ: high shelf, mid bell and low shelf, each with ±12 dB of boost or cut
-
Voltage-controlled panning: places a mono signal in the stereo field or balances left and right on stereo sources, with a dedicated pan CV attenuator
-
VCA level control: set by hand or by CV, with the level knob acting as the CV attenuator and panel markings to help with scaling and gain staging
-
3-way performance mute: on, off and momentary positions
-
Soft-clipping limiter: keeps levels in check and can be pushed for distortion
-
Line-level switching: separate switches set the input and output to Eurorack or line level
The left input is normalled to the right, so a mono source arrives as a stereo pair at the outputs, while stereo material passes through as a stereo pair. The module handles audio and CV, so it can be used anywhere a VCA would normally sit in a patch.
Typical roles include a stereo VCA, an audio or CV processor, a channel strip or final bus at the end of a patch, routing for send effects, and wave shaping of oscillators. EQ and voltage-controlled panning in a single module are less common in Eurorack. On line-level signals, the input stage can add gain and the output stage can bring levels down for external equipment. This is the assembled version, with a heat-treated aluminium front panel, designed and assembled by Befaco in Barcelona.
