Doepfer A-184-1 Ring Mod./S&H/T&H/Slew Lim.

Doepfer A-184-1: Ring Modulator, Sample & Hold, Track & Hold, and Slew Limiter All-in-One Module

The Doepfer A-184-1 is a multifunction Eurorack module combining four essential functions: ring modulation, sample & hold (S&H), track & hold (T&H), and slew limiting. This makes it ideal for complex modulation and sound design within a modular synth setup.

The ring modulator multiplies two input signals to create distinctive, often metallic or bell-like tones, adding rich harmonic content. The S&H and T&H circuits sample and hold voltages, producing stepped or smooth modulations respectively. The built-in slew limiter smooths rapid voltage changes, allowing glide effects that add expressiveness and fluidity to patches.

Key features:

• Ring Modulator: Multiplies two signals for unique, complex tones

• Sample & Hold: Holds sampled voltages until the next sample event

• Track & Hold: Tracks an input voltage and holds it at trigger events

• Slew Limiter: Softens voltage transitions for smooth glide effects

• Suitable for both audio and control voltage signals

• Compact size fits easily into any Eurorack system

This module provides a versatile toolbox for creative sound design, enabling rhythmic modulation, smooth transitions, and experimental sonic textures.
