The Gamechanger Audio Plus Pedal II is a floor pedal that brings piano-style sustain and sostenuto to any sound source. It works with guitar, vocals, wind, brass, strings, acoustic instruments and experimental setups. It is the successor to the original Plus Pedal, with a redesigned sound engine, more controls and new hardware.
-
Spectral Sampling engine: analyses the input at the spectral level to keep its timbre, dynamics and harmonics, and runs alongside the original real-time audio sampling.
-
Layering: the LAYERS knob sets a single layer, 2 to 10 layers, or an infinite mode where older layers keep merging into new ones.
-
Optical brass foot pedal: its position is read across the full travel to control layer volume and release, from gentle damping to volume swells.
-
Combo input: XLR with a built-in preamp for dynamic mics, plus a 1/4" instrument input and a KILL DRY switch.
-
Stereo FX loop: external effects can sit before the engine, on the sustained layers only, or on the output mix.
-
USB-C: USB-MIDI and firmware updates.
In use, you hold the pedal down and play. Auto Layer Catch detects new notes, filters out noise and stacks them for you, so chords can be built from single notes in real time. The CATCH switch decides what gets captured: every new note (ALL), only the set number of layers so you can solo over a held chord (GROUP), or one note at a time (SINGLE). The HOLD switch sets what stays: all layers, only the first note while later layers decay, or none, so layers start fading as soon as they are caught.
RISE and DECAY shape how each layer fades in and out. RESONANCE adds upper and lower resonances that follow the content of each active layer. TONE applies a slowly changing filter envelope to each layer separately, so the result moves over time instead of a fixed EQ curve. A ring of 11 LEDs shows the active layers and their volume.
With an acoustic instrument that is heard in the room, KILL DRY lets the pedal add only the sustain layers. The FX loop takes delay, chorus, flanger, reverb, pitch-shifting or distortion. An optional external footswitch, sold separately, adds WET, LATCH and HIDE modes. Typical uses include ambient and cinematic textures, layered drones, sustained distorted guitars and synths, scoring and sound design.
