The IK Multimedia ARC Studio+ is a standalone hardware processor for room and subwoofer correction. It sits between your playback source and your monitors, so correction runs outside the DAW with no plug-in involved. It suits dedicated studios, small writing rooms, hybrid rigs and temporary setups, and works whether you mix in the box, through outboard gear or from hardware synths.
-
Computer-free calibration: plug the included ARC measurement mic into the dedicated calibration input and start measuring from the front panel
-
ARC X software included: adds 7- and 21-point 3D room measurement, target-curve editing, profile management and virtual speakers for translation checks
-
Subwoofer management: detects a connected sub automatically and aligns gain, crossover, phase and delay for stereo or 2.1 systems, with any brand of monitors and sub
-
Three Scenes: front-panel buttons recall a calibration profile, speaker routing, sub on/off and input selection
-
Analog and digital I/O: balanced XLR/TRS combo inputs, XLR monitor outputs, a dedicated sub output, optical S/PDIF and USB-C audio
Because the processing lives in the unit, it does not depend on your DAW, operating system or playback source. That makes it equally useful for mixing, mastering, video editing, streaming and everyday listening. Correction covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and profiles stay stored in the hardware, so correction keeps running after ARC X is closed or the computer is disconnected.
Scenes make it quick to switch between listening situations. You might keep your main mix position on one button, a second position such as the sofa on another, and a translation-check curve on the third, for example a car, consumer or club tilt, a mono check or a band-limited response. Through ARC X you can also set the upper and lower limits of the corrected range.
Over optical or USB-C, the signal is corrected in the digital domain without an extra A/D and D/A conversion step. Two processing modes let you trade latency for phase behaviour: Natural Phase runs at 1.4 ms, which works for tracking and playing, while Linear Phase runs at 42 ms for critical listening. The unit uses 32-bit conversion at up to 192 kHz and has a relay hard bypass. It comes with the ARC microphone, a mic clamp and pouch, a USB cable and a power supply.
