Noise Engineering Librae Legio is a 6 HP stereo dynamics processor for Eurorack, built to sit at the end of a patch and bring the parts together. It suits modular users who want compression, limiting, expansion or gating on a whole patch or mix, whether the rack runs on its own or alongside other instruments.
-
Five processing types: compression, expansion, limiting, noise gating and two styles of gentle distortion
-
Mono or stereo: handles single voices as well as stereo mixes
-
Adjustable noise gate for cleaning up hiss and bleed between notes
-
FSU gate input: pushes everything to maximum for heavy, crunchy processing on demand
-
Saturation: turning up the gain drives the signal into saturation
-
Legio platform: the hardware can be switched to any other Legio firmware at no cost
Noise Engineering designed the module with transparency in mind, so it covers everything from hard limiting on a techno mix to light glue on an ambient patch. The processing is based on the dynamics engine of the Polydactyl Versio, reduced to a single band for a simpler, more direct workflow.
Librae is one of several firmwares for Legio, Noise Engineering's 6 HP stereo DSP platform. If your needs change, the same hardware can be reflashed through the Noise Engineering Customer Portal with other Legio firmwares such as Virt Iter, Morbus, Klang, Marimba, Megafold, Tymp or Unda. The platform software is open source and available through libDaisy.
