The Noise Engineering Multi Repetitor is a four-channel algorithmic rhythm and accent sequencer in 10 HP Eurorack. It replaces Noise Engineering's Numeric Repetitor and Zularic Repetitor and is designed for live playing. Patch its outputs to your drum modules, tap a tempo or send it a clock, and patterns start right away.
-
Three rhythm banks: Numeric Repetitor rhythms, Zularic Repetitor rhythms, or linear generalized Euclidean patterns, selected with the CV-controllable SET switch
-
Fader control: PRIME picks the base rhythm, and FACTOR 1–4 change the rhythm of each channel. Every fader has its own CV input.
-
MODIFY switch: shift rhythms within the measure, multiply the prime pattern by the factor, or offset PRIME so only one channel changes
-
Accent outputs: four accent gates that can follow the next or the previous channel's triggers, or be turned off
-
Tap tempo and reset: the RESET TAP button sets the internal clock tempo, or works as a manual reset and mute when an external clock is patched
-
Reversible interface: the panel layout can be flipped so the faders sit at the bottom
Multi Repetitor keeps the core rhythm engines of the two original modules, so it can behave exactly like them. It also adds new options: modifiers on all four outputs, dedicated accent outputs, tap tempo and the MODIFY switch. The Numeric bank draws its patterns from mathematical functions, and the Zularic bank is rooted in traditional music.
Each channel has a trigger output and an accent output, so one module can drive kick, snare, hats and percussion and add dynamics through accent inputs or VCAs. Because the faders and the SET switch accept CV, you can modulate patterns from elsewhere in the system for evolving or generative grooves. Without an external clock it runs on its own tap-tempo clock, which makes it useful in small performance cases.
