Overview

Playtronica Orbita: The Planetary Approach to Music Composition

The Playtronica Orbita is a revolutionary visual sequencer that merges the mechanics of a turntable with cutting-edge MIDI technology. By placing colored magnets onto the rotating disk, you construct rhythms and melodies that are read by high-speed optical sensors. The distance from the center determines the track, while the color defines the specific sound or note triggered. Orbita encourages a playful, almost meditative approach to composition, breaking away from the traditional linear timelines of standard music software.

Key Features:

  • Visual Sequencing: Use colors and physical interaction to map out your beats and loops in real-time.

  • Four Independent Tracks: The optical sensor scans multiple concentric rings simultaneously for complex polyrhythmic layering.

  • Wireless & Wired MIDI: Seamlessly connect via Bluetooth MIDI to mobile devices or via USB-C to your DAW of choice.

  • App Integration: Ready to play out of the box with internal sound engines via the dedicated Playtronica web apps.

  • Tactile Performance: The spinning motion offers a unique "hands-on" physical connection to digital sound design.

Technical Specifications:

  • Type: Rotary MIDI Sequencer

  • Connectivity: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and USB-C

  • Sensors: Precision optical color-recognition sensors

  • Power: Internal rechargeable battery (USB-C charging)

  • Included: Orbita base unit, set of multi-colored magnets, and USB cable
