The sE Electronics V7 PTT Gold is a handheld dynamic talkback microphone built on the V7, with a supercardioid pattern and a Push To Talk button. It is meant for live sound engineers and tech crew who need a dependable talkback or paging mic, and sE positions the gold version for front-of-house, monitor and broadcast positions.
-
Non-latching Push To Talk: the mic is live only while the button is held, so a talkback channel cannot be left open by mistake.
-
Near-silent button: sE says the button is virtually silent, keeping clicks out of in-ear mixes, wedges and the PA.
-
DMC7 dynamic capsule: the same capsule as the V7, with an aluminium voice coil and a neodymium magnet.
-
Supercardioid pattern: strong rejection of off-axis sources and high gain before feedback.
-
Built-in shock mount: sE's patented internal suspension isolates the capsule to keep handling noise low.
-
All-metal construction: zinc alloy chassis and a spring-steel mesh grille that resists dents and corrosion, with no plastic parts.
Several details are aimed at life at the mix position. The grille has a bevelled edge so the mic stays put instead of rolling when laid on a console, and an internal windscreen reduces wind noise and plosives. It ships with a red windscreen fitted and a black spare in the box. The body has a gold-plated finish and the XLR connector is gold-plated as well.
Included are a mic cradle, 5/8" to 1/4" and 5/8" to 3/8" thread adapters, locking nuts in three sizes and a zipper pouch.
