The sE Electronics V7 PTT Nickel is a talk-back version of the V7 handheld dynamic microphone, finished in sE's brushed nickel. A push-to-talk button sits on the body, so the mic is only live while the button is held. It is aimed at live sound engineers and tech crew who need a reliable talk-back mic, and at general paging.
-
Push-to-talk button: the mic is live only while the button is held, so a talk-back channel cannot be left open by accident. sE says it does not click in in-ears, wedges or the PA.
-
V7 sound: same DMC7 dynamic capsule with aluminium voice coil as the standard V7.
-
Supercardioid pattern: strong off-axis rejection and high gain before feedback on a loud stage.
-
Low handling noise: patented built-in shock mount.
-
All-metal build: zinc alloy body with no plastic parts and a dent-proof, corrosion-resistant spring steel mesh grille.
-
Brushed nickel finish with a gold-plated XLR connector.
The design takes the realities of front-of-house and monitor positions into account. A bevelled edge on the grille stops the mic rolling when it is put down on a console, and an internal windscreen reduces wind noise and plosives. The windscreen is red as standard, and a spare black one is included if you prefer a less conspicuous look.
In the box you get the microphone, a mic cradle, 5/8" to 1/4" and 5/8" to 3/8" thread adapters, 1/4", 3/8" and 5/8" locking nuts, a zipper pouch and the black internal windscreen.
