The sE Electronics V8 Graphite Gray is a handheld dynamic microphone with a supercardioid pattern, built mainly for live vocals. sE also recommends it for speech, broadcasting and podcasting. It succeeds the V7 handheld and uses a newly developed capsule, the DMCV8.
-
DMCV8 dynamic capsule: neodymium magnet and aluminium voice coil, voiced for a balanced midrange, high clarity and an extended low end
-
Tight supercardioid pattern: reduces bleed from other sources and helps gain before feedback on stage
-
Patented internal shock mount: the capsule suspension cuts handling noise and vibration
-
All-metal build: metal housing and a stainless spring-steel grille that resist dents and corrosion
-
Anti-roll grille: a beveled edge stops the mic rolling off a flat surface
-
Swappable internal windscreen: fitted in red, with a spare black one included
sE says the new capsule sounds more open and detailed than the V7's, so vocals should need less corrective EQ at the desk. The internal windscreen deals with wind noise and plosives. The swappable red and black windscreens let you change the look of the grille.
The mic has a gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector and a 300 ohm impedance. It ships with a mic clip, thread adapter and soft case. sE also makes the V8 as wireless capsule versions for Shure and Sennheiser handheld transmitters.
