The Wolfmix WING is a hands-on control surface for the Wolfmix W1 standalone DMX lighting controller. It is not a standalone unit: the W1 stays the main controller and the WING adds physical faders, screens and buttons. It suits performing musicians, DJs and lighting operators who run larger rigs or fully programmed shows. It works with every W1 version (MK1, MK2 and MK3) and powers the W1 over a single USB cable.
-
8 motorised faders with touch-sensitive caps, RGB LED light guides and an OLED screen above each strip, plus a main dimmer fader
-
Cue List mode with a dedicated GO button, hold and fade times, manual fades on the faders, looping and MIDI Time Code
-
Control mode puts dimmer, colour, 16-bit pan/tilt, zoom, iris, focus and gobo/prism rotation directly on the faders
-
Mapping mode mixes W1 functions and generic MIDI on assignable pages, and the unit works as a generic MIDI controller when no project is loaded
-
Four DMX outputs on 3-pin and 5-pin XLR, each assignable to any available universe
- 8 x 5 RGB-backlit button grid showing all 8 fixture groups, with group, page and dedicated OK/GO and CANCEL buttons
Once the WING is connected, it and the W1 run as a single system. Projects sync automatically and the surface changes to match the active W1 mode. All 8 fixture groups are on the surface at once, so you can dim, flash, solo, select and run effects on them without going through menus. Anyone who has worked on a traditional lighting desk will find the layout familiar.
For programmed shows, Cue List mode handles automatic and manual cue jumps. You can pause or resume a running fade with CANCEL or by grabbing the active cue's fader. In Control mode, selection shortcuts such as All, Evens and Invert make quick work of fixture groups, and edits can be saved into presets. Strip names and colours for mapped controls are set in Wolfmix's WTools software. The housing has a 100 mm VESA mount on its steel base plate.
