The Adam Audio H715 Reference is the company's flagship open-back, over-ear headphone. It uses dynamic drivers and is built for mixing, mastering and critical Hi-Fi listening. Adam positions it as a credible alternative to its full-range monitors for engineers working in treated rooms, and also as a reference you can take along for mobile production.
-
40 mm PEN dynamic drivers: titanium-plated polyethylene naphthalate diaphragms with neodymium magnets, a tuned suspension and a patent-pending ventilation system
-
Wide frequency response: 9 Hz to 40 kHz (-3 dB), with 150 Ohm impedance and under 0.05% THD at 100 dB SPL
-
Hi-Fi mode: true balanced operation from differential headphone amplifiers, switched on with the included metal pin
-
Flexible cabling: detachable locking cable that plugs into either ear cup, or into both cups for double-entry balanced use
-
Calibration software: a suite developed with Sonnox, with a Headphone Utility plug-in and the system-wide ListenHub app
-
Serviceable build: spring steel headband, metal parts, rotating ear cups that fold flat, and replaceable magnetic ear pads and headband pad
The PEN diaphragm is designed to be light and stiff for fast transient response, and the ventilation system helps smooth the high frequencies. The drivers are angled and sit behind a woven steel mesh, with acoustic damping placed to control resonances. A cloth- and felt-covered grill protects them.
On the software side, the Headphone Utility plug-in sits on the master or monitoring channel of your DAW. The ListenHub app applies calibration across the whole system and adds metering, referencing and imaging tools. The calibration profiles were made specifically for the H715, and adjustable crossfeed recreates the stereo image you would hear from studio monitors. This makes the headphones easier to use alongside speakers in a mixing workflow.
The headband pad has a gap in the middle to reduce pressure on the top of the head during long sessions. The memory foam ear pads come in easy-clean artificial leather or soft cloth versions. The headphones ship with a 3 m straight cable, a spiral cable that stretches from 1.3 to 3 m, and a hard carry case.
