| The Arturia MiniFreak 49 is a 6-voice hybrid polyphonic synthesizer that pairs two digital sound engines with an analog filter and VCA on every voice. It is the larger version of the 37-key MiniFreak, adding full-size keys, more hands-on controls and an XYZ touch matrix. It suits players and sound designers who want hybrid digital/analog sounds, deep modulation and sequencing on a full-size keyboard.
Each engine has its own Type, Wave, Timbre and Shape controls, and Engine 2 can process the output of Engine 1. A mixer sets the balance of both engines before the filter. Modulation comes from an envelope, a cycling envelope that runs up to audio rate and two LFOs per voice, and custom LFO shapes can be drawn on the touch matrix. In the matrix, rows are sources and columns are destinations, with an encoder setting depth. Voice modes cover Mono, Poly, Para and Unison, and the Voice Panning control spreads all six voices across the stereo field. Performance tools include Hold, Chord mode with savable voicings, Scale mode with built-in and user scales, and 16 multifunction step keys with dedicated Tempo and Swing. The audio input runs external signals through Engine 2, the analog filter and the effects. The MiniFreak 49 offers 256 MB of memory for samples and wavetables, eight times that of the original MiniFreak, and user content can be loaded via the included MiniFreak V software. MiniFreak V runs standalone or as a plug-in and lets you move presets between hardware and software. The instrument ships with over 200 factory presets and can load presets from the original MiniFreak. | Regular price
